Asia's burgeoning artificial intelligence (AI) sector is increasingly constrained by power supply challenges, impacting the pace and scale of AI advancements across the region. This development affects key areas in East Asia, including China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, as well as Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, and East Timor.

The AI boom, which spans South Asia and Central Asia as well, is running into what has been described as a "power wall," highlighting the critical need for sustainable and robust energy infrastructure to support AI technologies. The issue is significant given the wide geographic scope of AI development in Asia, encompassing major economies and emerging markets alike.

This energy challenge comes amid a backdrop of other regional concerns, including geopolitical tensions and economic pressures, which further complicate the AI landscape.
