Comedian and HBO's "Real Time" host Bill Maher warned on July 31st that the Democratic Party is being "colonized" by major socialists, expressing concern over the party's shift toward socialist views. During the episode, Maher criticized the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) agenda, which he said appears to be gaining influence within the mainstream Democratic Party.

Maher highlighted the irony of this political shift, stating, "It's so ironic from the people who obsess about colonization." He also voiced strong disapproval of candidates who, in his view, support misguided perspectives, saying, "I'm not voting for anyone who thinks the wrong side won the Cold War or cheers for the intifada like it's the World Cup."

In a candid remark, Maher said, "Get your head out of your a–, I would vote for Sarah Palin before this s—," underscoring his frustration with the current Democratic leadership. He also criticized prominent Democrats, including the Clintons and Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing them of refusing to appear on his show or in venues where they are not "pre-adored."

Maher's comments follow a report by Fox News Digital that he told ABC News "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl that his "vote is in play" due to his unhappiness with the Democratic Party's direction. Meanwhile, Adam Gray, a Democratic representative from California, and others have launched a pledge to moderate the party amid the rise of DSA views.
