The situation follows a United Nations report identifying June 2026 as the deadliest month for civilians in Ukraine since April 2022. In response to the escalating threat, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged former U.S. President Donald Trump to provide Patriot missile defense systems to bolster Ukraine’s air defenses.
