U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in Boston arrested 23-year-old Guatemalan illegal immigrant Rocael Ordonez-Cruz on July 21 at the Middlesex County House of Correction in Billerica, Massachusetts. Ordonez-Cruz faces charges including rape, indecent assault and battery on a person aged 14 or older, and indecent exposure.

The Arlington, Massachusetts Police Department initially arrested Ordonez-Cruz on June 25. According to ICE, he entered the United States illegally at an unknown time and location without inspection, admission, or parole by a U.S. immigration official.

Acting Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston Field Office Director David Wesling stated, "Rocael Ordonez-Cruz has not only displayed a blatant disregard for our laws by illegally entering this United States and later allegedly sexually assaulting our residents, he has also proven to be a threat to our neighborhoods."

ICE emphasized their commitment to public safety, noting the arrest demonstrates their dedication to protecting New England communities and their ongoing efforts to find and detain dangerous criminal alien offenders.

Separately, former Acting ICE Director Jonathan Fahey discussed another case involving Juan Arevalo Mendez, a twice-deported illegal immigrant charged with rape and kidnapping in Fairfax County, Virginia, highlighting the importance of cooperation between local authorities and ICE to prevent serious crimes.
