TOKYO — Seven & i Holdings, the company behind the 7-Eleven convenience store chain in Japan, announced on Friday, July 31, 2026, that it will receive a total investment of 300 billion yen (approximately $1.9 billion) from SoftBank Corp. and other partners. SoftBank Group's telecommunications unit, SoftBank Corp., is entering into a business and capital partnership with Seven & i Holdings as part of this deal.
The capital infusion is intended to support the revamp and modernization of convenience stores across Japan, signaling a strategic move to enhance the retail experience and operations of 7-Eleven outlets.
