US President Donald Trump’s social media posts on his Truth Social platform, known for moving markets with policy announcements, are now available for fast access to Wall Street traders willing to pay $100,000 per month. Starting Saturday, August 1st, Trump Media began offering a "Truth API" service that provides high-speed access to the president’s announcements on economic policy and global affairs.

This new service has sparked concerns about insider trading and the use of public office for private gain. Irene Aldridge, head of Able Alpha Trading, criticized the move, saying, “If this was the CEO of a public company, this would be jail time. We have a president of the United States who has the front seat to all the action, who makes all the decisions, and he's disclosing this ahead of time to a select group.”

Joe Saluzzi, co-founder of Themis Trading, estimated that about 100 high-frequency trading firms might subscribe to the service, calling it “market-moving information” and essential for “the big guys.” He added that those with access and systems to process the information will act faster than average investors, noting that “the loser is always the retail investor.”

Dylan Hedler-Gaudette, a federal ethics rule expert at the watchdog Project on Government Oversight, described the situation as “a real mess,” highlighting how Wall Street would want early knowledge of specific company promotions before others.

If only three firms subscribe at $100,000 per month, it would double Trump Media’s revenue, which was reported at $3.7 million last year. The service’s launch underscores the unique position of Truth Social, which not only distributes news but also creates it, frequently influencing markets with posts on topics ranging from war to central bank leadership and tariffs.
