Travelers across Asia are increasingly opting for short-haul trips to local attractions due to rising travel costs linked to the conflict involving Iran and ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. Popular destinations such as Hong Kong Disneyland and a mountain cable-car ride in northern Vietnam have seen a surge in visitors.

Hong Kong Disneyland was the most-booked attraction in Asia during the first half of 2026, according to travel platform Agoda. Visitors were recently seen enjoying a Pixar-themed parade at the park during a media preview in June.

This trend reflects a growing preference for regional travel as tourists seek to avoid higher expenses and potential risks associated with longer international journeys.
