A shooting at the In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon, August 2nd, 2026, left three people dead and seven others injured, some critically, according to city spokesperson Josh Palmer. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. in a busy shopping plaza where hundreds of people were present.

In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, stating her "heart is broken" after an employee and customers were killed. Snyder said in a Facebook statement, "We lost one of our beautiful Associates tonight. She was taking care of our most important asset — our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn’t value the lives of others or his own."

Snyder added that the gunman fired both on and away from In-N-Out property before ending his own life shortly after the attack. Police found the suspected shooter dead near the restaurant, though it was not immediately clear if the shooter was included in the official death toll.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said investigators are working to identify the suspected shooter and determine a motive. The restaurant had opened just days earlier on July 24 as part of In-N-Out’s expansion into Idaho, known as the Gem State.

Snyder also conveyed her empathy for those affected, saying, "I am no stranger to loss, but this is so incredibly tough, and my heart also goes out to all of the Associates and Customers who were there during this traumatic event."

Authorities believe the threat to the community is over.
