Two men, both in their 30s, are in custody as detectives investigate the death of a man in his 20s in Australind, Western Australia's South West region.

Police were called in the early hours of Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, to a bus stop in Australind, about 158 kilometres south of Perth, where paramedics found the man unresponsive with critical injuries around 1:20 a.m. He was transported to Bunbury Hospital but was declared deceased.

On Sunday morning, police cordoned off a large area next to The Boulevard in Australind, including a car park and two bus stops, while officers conducted a thorough search of the scene. Two damaged cars were visible behind police tape in the car park of a shopping complex.

The two men currently assisting police with enquiries remain in custody as the Homicide Squad continues its investigation.
