As the Pittsburgh Steelers began their training camp on Monday, August 3rd, ESPN's Pat McAfee visited and interviewed quarterback Aaron Rodgers on "The Pat McAfee Show." The conversation took an unexpected turn when Rodgers addressed former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Rodgers referenced Fauci's actions during a congressional hearing, where Fauci reportedly exercised his Fifth Amendment rights over 100 times. "I'm going to plead the Fifth," Rodgers said, alluding to Fauci's repeated refusals to answer questions. He further called Fauci an "absolute coward," questioning, "You got a pardon and you pleaded over 100 times at the White House? What are you scared of, Tony? I thought you were the science. Did they do even a minute? Did they do even a minute on Tony Fauci?"

The interview also touched on Rodgers' mindset entering what he described as his last NFL season, mentioning encouragement from his wife and the presence of coach Mike McCarthy.
