On Monday, August 3, 2026, five people were taken to hospital after being trapped in a flat fire at Block 684 Race Course Road, Singapore. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the blaze at about 7:10 pm.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a bedroom on fire in a fifth-storey unit and extinguished the flames using a water jet. Of the five trapped individuals, one was rescued by police, while SCDF rescued the remaining four.
Three of those rescued were found unconscious. SCDF reported that three people were taken to Singapore General Hospital, and the other two were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. It was not specified whether the unconscious individuals were all taken to the same hospital.
The incident highlights the swift response of emergency services in Singapore to fire emergencies.
