Minocqua Brewing Company, a Wisconsin brewery that previously sparked outrage by promising free beer on the day former President Donald Trump dies, has announced plans for a "half-price beer day" when Senator Mitch McConnell passes away.

In an Instagram post on Monday, the brewery stated it would offer beer at half price to celebrate McConnell's death, claiming the longtime Kentucky Republican was responsible for "about half of all America's current problems."

The brewery also referenced McConnell's current health status, noting that the senator, aged 84, has been recovering from a fall suffered at home last month and is not yet medically cleared to return to the Senate, according to the Office of the Attending Physician.

Minocqua Brewing Company criticized Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear for not calling a special election to replace McConnell before August 3rd, which under Kentucky law means the Senate seat will remain unfilled until January.

The brewery said, "When they announce that McConnell's Faustian dance has finally ended, we're gonna start serving our beer at ‘half price,’ because we promised #halfpricebeerday on the day they unplug the ventilator."

Separately, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on July 27 that Wisconsin's Department of Revenue sent a notice to Kirk Bangstad, the brewery's owner and a liberal activist, announcing plans to revoke the brewery’s permit. State regulators pursued revoking Bangstad's alcohol license after authorities seized canned beer from his company in June, alleging it had been transported from Illinois without the required permits and taxes.

Bangstad is also the founder of the Minocqua Brewing Company SuperPAC, which aims to remove Republican federal and state elected officials who perpetuated election lies related to the January 6, 2021, insurrection and downplayed the seriousness of COVID-19, according to the brewery’s website.
