Investigators in Germany are searching for parts of a second drone believed to have collided with an aircraft following the discovery of a drone carrying an explosive device on a runway at Leipzig/Halle Airport. Security sources reported that the drone was found near a Ukrainian Antonov An-124 Condor transport aircraft.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt described the incident as "a hybrid attack scenario" and noted the emergence of a "new level of danger." Saxony Interior Minister Armin Schuster confirmed that authorities continue to search for parts of the possible second drone. The Saxony State Criminal Police Office stated that the search for a second unidentified object would resume on Thursday morning, August 6, 2026.
