A 36-year-old woman from Western Sydney, Jasmine Baker, has been charged with 62 offences including 18 threats to kill, 23 stalking and intimidation charges, and multiple counts related to using postal services to menace or harass. Police allege she sent death threat letters to five politicians, including NSW Labor minister Jihad Dib, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, independent federal MP Allegra Spender, Parramatta federal MP Andrew Charlton, and Macnamara federal MP Josh Burns.

Court documents obtained by ABC Australia News reveal Baker was arrested at her Constitution Hill home on Wednesday morning, August 6, 2026. The investigation began in May 2026 when Strike Force Eckon, part of the Counter Terrorism & Special Tactics Command, started probing a large volume of abusive letters sent to multiple recipients.

The police prosecutor stated there is DNA evidence linking Baker to the letters, which were allegedly sent over a five-year period from 2021 to 2026. Authorities noted the nature of the alleged offending escalated, with several letters sent in 2026. Baker also allegedly sent threats to 2GB presenter Mark Levy and former Australian Jewish Association president David Adler.

Baker's lawyer said she suffered a traumatic event in 2018 and has been medicated since. It was also noted that Baker is the sole carer for her mother, who has multiple health conditions, and that her Centrelink payments significantly contribute to their leased Housing NSW residence.

Bail was refused, with a court official stating, "It can't be addressed by what's being offered and bail is refused."
