TOKYO — Japanese brewer and beverage company Kirin Holdings announced on August 7, 2026, that it will acquire Ontario-based vitamin and supplement maker Jamieson Wellness for 1.898 billion Canadian dollars (approximately $1.3 billion). This acquisition marks Kirin’s strategic move to establish a presence in the North American health science market, the world’s largest supplement market, as the company faces a flat beer market in its core business.
Kirin Holdings has been diversifying its portfolio into health foods and supplements, and this deal strengthens its foothold in the sector. The acquisition of Jamieson Wellness, a well-known Canadian brand, aligns with Kirin’s broader push to expand beyond traditional brewing.
