TOKYO — Japanese brewer and beverage company Kirin Holdings announced on Friday, August 7th, 2026, that it will acquire Ontario-based vitamin and supplement maker Jamieson Wellness for 1.898 billion Canadian dollars (approximately $1.3 billion). This acquisition marks Kirin's strategic move to establish a foothold in the North American health science market, the world's largest supplement market, as the company faces a flat beer market in its core business.

Kirin Holdings has been diversifying its portfolio by expanding into health foods and supplements, aiming to capitalize on growing consumer demand in this sector. The deal positions Kirin to strengthen its presence in North America through Jamieson Wellness, a well-known Canadian brand in vitamins and supplements.
