TOKYO — Japanese brewer and beverage company Kirin Holdings announced on August 7, 2026, a deal valued at 1.898 billion Canadian dollars ($1.3 billion) to acquire Ontario-based vitamin and supplement maker Jamieson Wellness. This acquisition marks Kirin's strategic move to establish a foothold in the health science sector in North America, the world's largest supplement market, as the beer industry faces flat growth.

Kirin Holdings has been diversifying its portfolio by expanding into health foods and supplements, aiming to capitalize on growing consumer demand in this sector.
