TOKYO — Japanese brewer and beverage company Kirin Holdings announced on August 7, 2026, a deal valued at 1.898 billion Canadian dollars (approximately $1.3 billion) to acquire Ontario-based vitamin and supplement maker Jamieson Wellness. This acquisition marks Kirin's strategic move to establish a foothold in the North American health science market, the world's largest supplement market, as the beer industry experiences flat growth.

Kirin Holdings has been diversifying its business portfolio to include health foods and supplements, aiming to capitalize on growing consumer demand in these sectors.
