TOKYO — Japanese brewer and beverage company Kirin Holdings announced on August 7, 2026, that it has agreed to acquire Ontario-based vitamin and supplement maker Jamieson Wellness for 1.898 billion Canadian dollars (approximately $1.3 billion). This acquisition marks Kirin's strategic move to establish a foothold in the North American health science market, the world's largest supplement market, as the beer industry faces stagnation.

Kirin Holdings has been diversifying its portfolio to include health foods and supplements, aiming to capitalize on growing consumer demand in these sectors. The purchase of Jamieson Wellness aligns with this strategy by expanding Kirin's presence beyond its traditional beverage business.
