TOKYO — Japanese brewer and beverage company Kirin Holdings announced on August 7, 2026, that it has agreed to acquire Ontario-based vitamin and supplement maker Jamieson Wellness for 1.898 billion Canadian dollars (approximately $1.3 billion). This acquisition marks Kirin’s strategic move to strengthen its presence in the health science sector in North America, the world’s largest supplement market, as the beer market remains flat.

Kirin Holdings has been diversifying its business portfolio by expanding into health foods and supplements. The purchase of Jamieson Wellness provides Kirin with a significant foothold in the North American health science industry.
