TOKYO — Japanese brewer and beverage company Kirin Holdings announced on August 7, 2026, that it has agreed to acquire Ontario-based vitamin and supplement maker Jamieson Wellness for 1.898 billion Canadian dollars (approximately $1.3 billion). This acquisition marks Kirin’s strategic move to establish a foothold in the North American health science market, the world’s largest supplement sector, as the company faces a flat beer market.

Kirin Holdings has been diversifying its portfolio into health foods and supplements, aiming to expand beyond its traditional beverage business. The purchase of Jamieson Wellness, a well-known Canadian brand, is a significant step in this direction.
