SINGAPORELim Yi Fei, a 25-year-old Singaporean man, was sentenced on Friday, August 7, 2026, to nine months and 31 weeks in jail for multiple offences including outrage of modesty and theft in dwelling committed between 2016 and 2025.

The sentence followed police investigations that uncovered a mobile phone containing 179 upskirt videos recorded over three years. Lim filmed unknown women on separate occasions from January 2016 to February 2019 at various public locations such as escalators, walkways, streets, and shopping centres. In all videos, he approached the women from behind to record their buttocks.

About a week before his arrest for the upskirt videos, in September 2019, Lim molested a woman at Serangoon MRT station.

Lim pleaded guilty to five charges, including intruding upon a woman's privacy with intent to insult her modesty and using criminal force with intent to outrage modesty.

The prosecution described Lim as a "serial, habitual offender" with offences spanning from 2016 to 2025. In sentencing submissions, it was stated that a stiff and deterrent sentence was necessary to impress upon Lim that his "blatant and egregious invasion of his victims' privacy is deserving of strong societal opprobrium and condemnation."

Lim's defense lawyer, Mr Jonathan Wong from Tembusu Law, argued in mitigation that while there appears to be a continuing pattern of conduct, Lim's actions were not motivated by malice or predatory behavior.
