Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday, August 9th, 2026, that Israel has rejected the 15-point peace plan for Gaza proposed by United States President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace. Netanyahu emphasized that Israel will not withdraw its forces from Gaza until the Palestinian group Hamas is fully disarmed.

“Israel rejects the 15-point document,” Netanyahu said during a cabinet meeting, referring to the plan endorsed last month by Hamas.

He added that the Israeli army “will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed and will continue to thwart threats against our forces and our citizens.”

Despite a ceasefire agreement with Hamas last October, Israel has continued near-daily military operations across the Gaza Strip.

Last week, the US-led Board of Peace stated that any Israeli withdrawal from Gaza would only occur after Hamas’s disarmament is complete. This followed a meeting between the Board’s director, Nickolay Mladenov, and Netanyahu.
