The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) reported that its F-16 fighter jets intercepted two general aviation aircraft over Bedminster, New Jersey, on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The planes reportedly violated temporary flight restrictions established in the area where President Donald Trump was expected to spend time at his golf club.

According to the 1st Air Force’s Air Forces Northern, two aircraft were involved in the incident. NORAD officials confirmed that the general aviation aircraft were safely escorted out of the restricted airspace.

The temporary flight restrictions were in place specifically over the Bedminster area to secure the vicinity during President Trump’s presence.
