The foul was reviewed and upgraded to a Flagrant 2, resulting in her ejection.
Carrington quote tweeted a retort to former NFL player and sports personality Emmanuel Acho, who stated on his "Speakeasy" show that Carrington could not label her foul as "White privilege." In her reply on X, Carrington wrote, "I’ve never once claimed that the assessment of the foul was white privilege (that was your assumption)." She added that she attended Stanford University for four years before transferring to Baylor to educate herself on the subject.
Despite her response, Carrington did not clarify what she meant by the original post. Fox News Digital did not receive a response from her representatives when asked for further explanation.
Carrington has a history of on-court controversies, including mocking rookie Caitlin Clark for flopping during the 2024 season with the Connecticut Sun and calling Indiana Fever fans "the nastiest fans in the W" after receiving racist abuse online. Additionally, during the 2024 WNBA playoffs, Carrington struck Clark in the eye while defending a pass, resulting in Clark sustaining a black eye.
