Overnight Russian attacks on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026, killed six people in southeastern Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region and struck a children’s hospital in the capital, Kyiv, according to local officials and Ukraine’s state emergency service.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the military administration in Zaporizhzhia, described the assault as a “massive” attack involving missiles and aerial bombs, which also wounded 19 people. He shared images on social media showing buildings and vehicles on fire and reported power outages in the area.
In the southern city of Mykolaiv, a Russian drone attack injured a 75-year-old woman, as reported by the head of the regional military administration. Meanwhile, Russia’s air defence units claimed to have destroyed 15 drones over the city of Voronezh and five districts in the region, according to Gusev.
Officials noted that the early Tuesday attacks included long-range missiles, part of a Russian campaign to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defences amid Kyiv’s shortage of Patriot interceptors.
Additional reports indicate Russian forces launched a brutal attack in Odesa, killing several, while Serbia and Ukraine pledged closer economic ties, eyeing a free trade deal.
