Trump Media, known for its Truth Social platform associated with President Donald Trump, reported a significant increase in its second-quarter net loss, rising to $238.1 million from about $20 million a year earlier. The wider loss is largely attributed to unrealized losses tied to its cryptocurrency assets, which faced pressure amid market uncertainties including U.S. interest rates and geopolitical tensions during the April-to-June quarter.

Despite the losses, Trump Media is advancing efforts to generate new revenue through its Truth API, a licensed data feed launched on August 1 that provides banks and trading firms with rapid access to posts from influential Truth Social accounts, including President Trump's. The company has signed more than 10 customer agreements for the feed and continues to add partners. Interim CEO Kevin McGurn stated, "Our new Truth API product is already generating revenue, with more than ten customer agreements signed to date."

The company posted $1.7 million in revenue for the quarter ended June, up from $0.9 million in the same period last year. Additionally, Trump Media is making progress toward a proposed merger with fusion energy developer TAE Technologies, aiming to capitalize on the growing demand for power driven by artificial intelligence data centers. This move complements the Trump family's expanding portfolio, which includes ventures in cryptocurrency, real estate, and mobile services.

Trump Media has reportedly discussed charging as much as $100,000 per month for access to the Truth API, according to Reuters and other media outlets.
