A 4-year-old child died last Thursday, August 6th, 2026, after suffering an apparent electrical shock from a 220-volt clothes dryer while playing inside a home in Savonburg, Kansas, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO).
The child was reportedly unconscious when the parents rushed them to a local hospital around 9:30 p.m., but was later pronounced dead.
The ACSO extended heartfelt condolences to the family and all those affected by the tragedy, including dispatchers, first responders, and hospital personnel.
Authorities noted that a 220-volt electrical current can cause serious injury or death, including cardiac arrest.
