The US Secret Service confirmed on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026, that it is aware of a video broadcast by Iranian state television discussing a potential assassination plot against Barron Trump, the youngest son of former US President Donald Trump. The three-minute video claimed Barron Trump, 20, was being monitored and alleged a $10 million bounty had been offered for his killing.

Secret Service spokesman Nate Herring stated in an email, “The US Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees. Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence.”

This development comes amid nearly six months of hostile rhetoric between the United States and Iran, a conflict that began in February involving the US and Israel. Reuters reported earlier in August that the US had received multiple warnings from Israel over the past year about Iran's intentions to assassinate Donald Trump, including prior to a secret Air Force One operation in Turkey.

The US Secret Service continues to monitor and investigate any threats to those under its protection.
