Glenwood "Bubba" Pysher IV, a 22-year-old college baseball player, was fatally shot by police in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, after mistakenly attempting to enter the wrong home early Sunday, August 26th, 2026, his family said.

According to the Montgomery County District Attorney's office, police responded just after midnight to a 911 call reporting a possible break-in on Snyder Road. Officers arrived to find a male at the rear of the residence.

Pysher's mother, Erin Pysher, told Fox News Digital that after a night out at a bar with friends, her son walked to what he believed was a friend's house. "After a few drinks, he didn't realize it—he was at their back door knocking, thinking it was his friend's house, saying, 'Hey, let me in,'" she said.

Erin Pysher described her son as "the best kid ever" and said he had never been in trouble. She expressed uncertainty about what prompted the police officer to deem the shooting necessary.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
