Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to avoid releasing photos, making comments, or generating news that could overshadow Prince George’s highly anticipated first day at Eton College in September 2026, according to royal broadcaster Neil Sean.

"The Sussexes have assured the King that they will not hijack or derail major royal events, notably the first day of school term for Prince George at Eton," Sean told Fox News Digital. "By that, no pictures or comment from either one on that day in September."

Kensington Palace confirmed in June that 13-year-old Prince George will attend Eton College starting this September, following in the footsteps of his father, Prince William, and his uncle, Prince Harry. Royal commentator Amanda Matta described George’s start at Eton as more than a personal milestone, calling it "the beginning of his public-facing path as heir to the throne."

A representative for Archewell declined to comment on the matter, and Kensington Palace did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The reported understanding comes as the Prince and Princess of Wales prepare for this significant family milestone. A spokesperson for the Sussexes told The New York Times that after a summer trip with family and friends, Harry and Meghan plan to spend an extended period in the U.K. this autumn.

Amanda Matta also noted, "The Palace is incredibly protective of that narrative, and any competing headline — especially one involving Harry and Meghan — threatens to distract from the ‘steady, future-focused’ brand the Prince and Princess of Wales have worked so hard to build."
