Two Chinese robotics start-ups based in Hangzhou have confirmed plans to launch initial public offerings (IPOs) in Hong Kong as early as 2027. These companies, founded by former executives of Alibaba Group Holding, are part of a growing wave of embodied artificial intelligence firms seeking to scale production through public funding.
Infiforce Technology Group, known for developing a cognitive system for robots called “AtomBrain,” is actively raising capital ahead of its potential Hong Kong listing. Company founder Isabella Bai, a former Alibaba vice-president, stated, “We are aiming for [a listing in] 2027, and preparation is currently under way.”
Founded in 2023, Infiforce recently completed a funding round of nearly 1 billion yuan (approximately US$149 million) and secured overseas orders, including a contract for 1,000 units in Saudi Arabia. Bai noted rapid progress in industry financing and research and development but did not disclose specific targets or investor details.
These developments underscore Hong Kong’s growing importance as a fundraising hub for China’s fast-expanding technology sector.
