The Lincoln's deployment, which supported U.S. military operations against Iran, included a record-setting uninterrupted time at sea exceeding 250 days. Concerns have been raised about the crew's mental health and shortages of supplies such as food and hygiene products during this extended period.

A Thai government official, speaking anonymously due to lack of authorization to brief the press, confirmed the carrier's visit to Thailand is intended for rest and recovery. Additionally, a statement from the Royal Thai Navy on Tuesday noted that three ships from a U.S. Navy carrier strike group are scheduled for a short stopover in eastern Thailand for recuperation. The statement emphasized that no military exercises will take place during the visit and did not disclose the specific ships, port, or arrival dates citing security reasons.

While recent weeks have seen a reduction in hostilities between the U.S. and Iran, the U.S. Navy continues to enforce a reimposed blockade on Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz. The Trump administration has yet to clarify its plans for winding down the conflict.
