Bill Gates is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in November 2026 to discuss fostering international cooperation on the risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI). According to a Gates spokesman cited by Reuters, the meeting aims to rally support for global AI risk management.

This would mark a continuation of the relationship between Gates and Xi, who last met in 2023. At that time, Gates was the first foreign business leader to visit Xi following the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition to the planned meeting, Gates published a 6,000-word essay addressing AI-related issues, underscoring his commitment to the topic.
