Chicago Sky principal owner Michael Alter declined to comment on whether Enes Kanter Freedom’s ban from attending games at Wintrust Arena would extend to playing against the Sky if Freedom joins a visiting WNBA team next season.
Freedom, an 11-year NBA veteran, was banned from future Sky games after security ejected him during a confrontation with Sky guard Natasha Cloud at a game against the Indiana Fever on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The organization deemed Freedom a potential threat after he stepped toward the court during the incident.
Freedom has announced his intention to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft, raising questions about his eligibility to play in Wintrust Arena if drafted by another team.
In an exclusive interview with OutKick, when asked if the ban would apply should Freedom play against the Sky, Alter responded, "I’m not gonna comment on that ridiculous question. Thank you. Why would you even ask that question? I mean, do you really care about the truth here, or do you just wanna have fun with this whole thing?"
The ban currently extends to Freedom’s attendance at Sky games, but Alter did not clarify if it would prevent him from playing at Wintrust Arena as an opponent.
