Rising Israeli settler violence is increasingly targeting Palestinian industrial facilities across the occupied West Bank, with the apparent aim of paralyzing the local economy and forcing mass displacement.

On Monday morning, August 24th, 2026, a blaze broke out near the al-Omari aluminium factory in the village of Ein Siniya, north of Ramallah. The fire spread to approximately 50 dunams (12.3 acres) of perennial olive trees and caused damage to the factory's yard. Emad Khater, head of the Ein Siniya council, told Al Jazeera that a settler from the Atara hilltops was seen near the facility before the fire started.

Khater described the incident as part of a series of systematic attacks on Ein Siniya, which have included deliberate fires targeting trees, homes, and cars, as well as thefts and physical assaults involving beatings of citizens and factory workers.

Amir Dawoud, an official at the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CRRC), reported that his organization documented 798 settler attacks in July 2026 alone, highlighting the scale of the violence.

These attacks come amid broader tensions in the region, including Israeli forces raiding a UNRWA training center in occupied East Jerusalem and ongoing restrictions causing fuel shortages in the West Bank.

The violence poses a significant threat to the fragile Palestinian economy and the livelihoods of those living in the occupied territories.
