A small plane carrying four people crashed into shallow waters near the remote coastal town of Seldovia, Alaska, on Wednesday, August 27th, 2026, killing everyone on board, officials confirmed.
The aircraft, a Piper PA-24, was en route to the airport in Seldovia after departing from Anchorage. According to a statement from the Alaska Department of Public Safety, the plane was submerged in water following the crash.
Seldovia’s airport is located approximately 136 miles (219 kilometers) southwest of Anchorage.
No further details about the cause of the crash or the identities of the passengers have been released.
