Geybert Alexander Garcia, 40, and Melany Pavon Perdomo, 24, were arrested on August 25, 2026, for allegedly burglarizing a luxurious townhome in northwest Miami-Dade, Florida. The home belonged to Henry Parra, 55, and Adam Hlavaty, 42, who were among seven people killed in a helicopter crash in Kenya earlier that month.
According to Miami-Dade court records and arrest affidavits reviewed by Fox News Digital, Garcia is a U.S. citizen, while Perdomo is subject to an immigration detainer. The pair are accused of stealing two luxury vehicles—a 2023 Land Rover Range Rover and a 2020 Porsche Taycan—along with personal documents, jewelry, and artwork, including a sculpture valued by police at over $500,000.
The helicopter crash occurred on August 19, 2026, when the aircraft was flying from the Loisaba Conservancy to the Ewaso Nyiro area in Samburu County, Kenya. The crash site was in a rugged area near Mount Ololokwe, according to the Associated Press, citing Kenya’s civil aviation authority.
Parra and Hlavaty were described as a loving couple who cherished traveling and spending time with family and friends. They were also noted for being hardworking, generous, and deeply committed to serving and giving back to their community.
The Miami-Dade Police Department investigated the burglary following the deaths of the homeowners.
