More than 70 per cent of families listed by name as experiencing homelessness in Brisbane last year had a single mother as the sole parent, new data shows.
Between July 1, 2025 and June 30 this year, 984 families, including 1,539 children, were identified by name as sleeping rough on the city's streets, in parks, in cars, in motels, or in emergency accommodation.
The list of people accessing services is compiled by Brisbane Zero, a group of 32 organisations committed to ending homelessness.
The snapshot is used to understand the scale of homelessness in the city, identify gaps in support and track changing needs over time.
