US President Donald Trump issued pardons on July 4, 2026, for a total of 11 individuals. Nine of those pardoned had been convicted of violating the Clean Air Act by circumventing emission controls on vehicles, including disabling emissions monitoring systems or selling devices that bypass these systems. The pardons also included a former business partner of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

According to The Associated Press, the White House provided a list comprising these 11 pardons. Earlier the same day, Trump posted on his Truth Social platform that he granted clemency to six of the men without revealing their identities. He claimed these men were "persecuted" under President Joe Biden's administration for "fixing their car."

On the preceding Monday, Trump signed a memo instructing the Environmental Protection Agency that US citizens are allowed to repair their vehicles as they see fit. This follows actions earlier in the year when the Trump administration eliminated federal tailpipe emissions standards for cars and trucks, reversing a scientific finding from the Obama administration regarding greenhouse gas emissions and human health.

Additionally, in March 2026, the Newsday local daily reported that one of the pardoned individuals, Kidan, hosted a fundraiser at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort for a Long Island Republican congressional candidate.
