Left-wing streamer and political influencer Hasan Piker described sexual assault allegations against Democrat Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner as “super credible and indefensible” during a Twitch livestream on July 6, 2026.
Piker reacted to an exclusive Politico report featuring an allegation from Platner’s ex-girlfriend Jenny Racicot. Racicot accused Platner of forcing her to have sex nearly five years ago during an on-again-off-again relationship. The alleged assault reportedly occurred when Platner entered Racicot’s home uninvited while heavily intoxicated and forced himself on her.
Calling the incident a “clear-cut date rape under the influence of alcohol,” Piker told over 32,000 viewers that the allegations were “as airtight as it’s gonna get … as far as allegations go.” He added, “It’s indisputable he violated this person’s consent. This is as open and shut as it gets.”
Piker distinguished these allegations from a separate claim made by another ex-girlfriend, Lyndsey Fifield, in June, which was reported by The New York Times. Previously, Piker had defended Platner against Fifield’s allegations, suggesting they did not meet legal standards and labeling Fifield a “Republican operative” due to her Heritage Foundation connections.
Racicot also spoke to The New York Times but did not provide detailed allegations, only stating she cut off contact with Platner after he acted “reckless” and “unsettling” while drunk.
Piker has previously stated, “I don’t care about the personal character of Graham Platner. I don’t care about the things that he’s done, unless it’s like literally irredeemable.”
