FIFA has condemned racist abuse directed at American social media influencer IShowSpeed during a livestream at the 2026 World Cup match between Argentina and Cape Verde held in Miami, United States.

The incident occurred on July 3, 2026, at Miami Stadium when an Argentina supporter told IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr, to "go cry at the zoo" in Spanish during his livestream. FIFA promptly initiated an investigation into the matter.

IShowSpeed, who has a combined social media following exceeding 150 million across platforms including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and X, has been attending and streaming several World Cup matches under agreements with FIFA, Fox Sports, and YouTube.

FIFA's statement emphasized that the World Cup is a celebration of "unity, diversity, and respect" and that the organization will not tolerate behavior that undermines these values.

The global football governing body strongly condemned racism, hate, and discrimination in all forms following the incident at Argentina's last-32 match against Cape Verde.
