An Iranian official warned Gulf states on July 8 that Iran has "no red lines" regarding its defense, responding to President Trump's threat of another "big attack" on Iran following Tehran's assaults on commercial ships.

Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament on national security and foreign policy, cautioned Gulf states that supported Trump in the Iran-America conflict to "watch over their oil and gas wells." He also issued a stark warning to Trump and American forces concerning repeated U.S. threats to seize Kharg Island, a critical hub for about 90 percent of Iran's crude oil exports. Rezaei stated, "Trump has once again spoken of occupying Kharg Island. Come on, we're waiting for you and we promise that not even a single American soldier will return alive."

President Trump declared the interim ceasefire deal between the U.S. and Iran "over" during the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, following an overnight exchange of strikes. The U.S. military retaliated after Iran attacked at least three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping corridor.

Iran’s parliamentary speaker and chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, accused the U.S. of violating the agreement, stating on social media, "The era of bullying and extortion is over. It leads nowhere."

Peace talks between Washington and Tehran had been paused due to the funeral of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and were expected to resume after his six-day funeral procession.
