WNBA standout Caitlin Clark is set to return for the Indiana Fever's Wednesday night game against the Los Angeles Sparks after missing time due to a lingering back injury. However, her comeback involves a carefully managed workload.

Fever head coach Stephanie White disclosed a surprising plan to alternate playing time between Clark and All-Star forward Aliyah Boston during the Fever's back-to-back road trip games. White explained, "She's gonna be out tonight, again, with the back-to-back. ... Caitlin's gonna be active tonight, AB's not, and then they'll flip-flop tomorrow."

Regarding Boston's status, White confirmed, "Yeah, [Boston] just did some of the shooting," indicating Boston is gradually returning to action.

Clark had left the Fever's recent game against the Phoenix Mercury due to her back injury. The Fever had also secured a convincing 84-68 victory over the Las Vegas Aces without Clark just days earlier. Despite the cautious approach, some observers note that ruling Clark out more than 24 hours before tipoff may be overly cautious, given the uncertainty of her response after playing Wednesday night.

This workload management strategy highlights the Fever's efforts to balance player health with competitive performance during a demanding schedule.
