NEW TAIPEI CITY, TaiwanFilipino workers employed by Taiwanese medical device manufacturer TaiDoc Technology are embroiled in a bitter labor dispute. Migrant employees accuse the Taipei-based company of persistent abuses and harassment against their union.

On a rainy day in June, Elizabeth Basas, a 34-year-old worker at TaiDoc, took time off to attend a mental health checkup, highlighting the personal toll the dispute has taken on employees.

The conflict reflects broader challenges faced by migrant workers in Taiwan's manufacturing sector, with ongoing tensions over working conditions and labor rights.
