NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan — Filipino workers employed by Taiwanese medical device manufacturer TaiDoc Technology are embroiled in a bitter labor dispute. Migrant employees accuse the Taipei-based company of persistent abuses and harassment against their union.
On a rainy day in June, Elizabeth Basas, a 34-year-old worker at TaiDoc, took time off to attend a mental health checkup, highlighting the personal toll the dispute has taken on employees.
