Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the United Kingdom on Monday, July 27th, 2026, for talks with the new Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The discussions focus on enhancing support for Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia.

Zelensky highlighted on social media that the key priorities of the talks are "air defence, maritime security, and joint defence production." He also noted that over the course of the full-scale war, Ukraine and the UK have developed the strongest relationship in their history of cooperation.

The UK is expected to grant Ukraine the rights to produce the "Stone Cloak" device, which reportedly disrupts Russian air-defense systems from tracking and targeting drones. Officials indicated that Burnham will reaffirm continued British support for Ukraine against Russia’s invasion during the meetings.

This visit precedes Zelensky’s planned meeting with US President Donald Trump, scheduled for Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, where further assistance to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses is expected to be sought. Discussions are also likely to cover sanctions on Russia and plans to allow Ukraine to produce Patriot air-defense missiles under license.

Ukraine continues to conduct long-range drone and missile strikes in Russia, aiming to impose economic costs on President Vladimir Putin’s war efforts and challenge Kremlin narratives about the conflict.
