Spain defender Marc Cucurella has honoured a promise he made before the 2026 World Cup by getting a tattoo of his national team coach Luis de la Fuente's face. The 28-year-old had pledged to tattoo the coach if Spain won the tournament.

After Spain defeated Argentina in the final, de la Fuente smiled and said he expected Cucurella to keep his word. On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Cucurella followed through, getting an image of de la Fuente holding the World Cup inked on his left arm.

"Promise fulfilled," Cucurella wrote on Instagram, sharing short clips of the tattooing process.

During the World Cup, Real Madrid's Cucurella started in all eight matches for Spain, contributing to seven clean sheets. He also carried his wife's pyjama top as a lucky charm throughout the tournament.
