Max Miller, the 37-year-old Republican representative for Ohio’s seventh congressional district, is under increasing scrutiny following domestic abuse allegations made by his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, and former girlfriend, Stephanie Grisham. Miller has denied all accusations as he seeks re-election.

Moreno, a conservative policy adviser who shares a two-year-old daughter with Miller, has accused him of multiple abusive incidents, including throwing hot water at her and holding a gun to her head, according to reports by the New York Times. The couple has been involved in a custody dispute since 2024.

A prominent anti-gun-violence group has called for Miller’s resignation following Moreno’s allegations involving a firearm. In response, a spokesperson for Senator Bernie Moreno emphasized the senator’s priority on the safety and well-being of his daughter and granddaughter, stating he will pursue a just outcome for his family without engaging in public disputes.

Separately, Stephanie Grisham, who served as White House press secretary during Donald Trump’s first administration and is Miller’s former girlfriend, has also accused him of abuse, which Miller denies.

Brian Poindexter, Miller’s Democratic opponent in the upcoming election, told the New York Times, “If the allegations prove to be true … Miller should be in jail, not worried about retaining a seat in Congress.”

The allegations have intensified calls for Miller to step down, but he continues to reject the claims as the campaign progresses.
