Emily Moreno, the ex-wife of two-term Ohio GOP Rep. Max Miller, has asked a court to issue a restraining order preventing Miller from contacting her attorney, Andrew Zashin. The request comes amid allegations from Moreno that Miller assaulted her, claims which Miller denies.

Moreno alleges in court filings that Miller has repeatedly engaged in physical and verbal altercations with her lawyer following recent court hearings related to their ongoing custody battle. The couple, who share a young daughter, were married briefly from 2022 until their divorce in June 2025 and already have court-ordered restraining orders against each other.

According to Moreno, Miller physically assaulted her during a custody exchange at his Bay Village, Ohio residence in front of their daughter. She also reported another domestic incident in March 2025 and claimed that Miller previously held a gun to her head, as noted in a police report.

Moreno further alleges that after a May court hearing, Miller insulted Zashin's fiancée in front of witnesses at an Ohio courthouse and physically grabbed Zashin and another attorney after a recent hearing. In an affidavit, Moreno warned that unless restrained, Miller "will continue to harass, threaten, and communicate with my counsel directly," and has similarly harassed her previous legal teams.

Sworn testimony from Moreno in a May hearing related to Miller's domestic violence case against her included her statement that Miller admitted to being abusive both verbally and in writing. Miller has denied the assault allegations.

Prior to his political career, Miller worked as a campaign digital reporter covering President Trump's 2024 campaign and served as an associate producer for "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan."
