Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and his ministers are set to hold the first district consultation session on Sunday, August 3rd, 2026, in Tuen Mun. The session aims to collect views on Lee’s forthcoming policy address and the city’s inaugural five-year plan, which seeks to better align Hong Kong’s development with the national blueprint for 2026 to 2030.

Only government-chosen residents and district representatives have been invited to participate in the exchange, according to sources. Lee is expected to address media inquiries only after the next district session scheduled for the following Sunday, August 10th, 2026.

This consultation round differs from previous years as it simultaneously gathers opinions on both the policy address and the five-year plan. The two-month public consultation period will conclude on August 14th, 2026, with Lee pledging to release the finalized plan by the end of the year.

Writing on social media, Lee noted that since the government launched public consultations in June for both blueprints, he and his team have attended over 80 sessions, conducted both in person and online, to collect feedback from various sectors.
